SigTrack Review 2022 Work From Home Job

My SigTrack review. Is the work from home job SigTrack legit? More and more people are taking interest in remote jobs and SigTrack, which claims you can earn $15-$20 per hour, has been a popular choice for freelancers for years. Here is an honest review of SigTrack after working for them for a few months in 2022.

What is SigTrack?

SigTrack is a data processing company that connects grassroots campaigns with crowdsourced data entry freelancers. Working as a freelancer for SigTrack is a data entry job where you transfer handwritten signatures into an online database.

What Do You Do Working for SigTrack?

As a freelancer for SigTrack you have access to a list of campaigns which are essentially PDF scans of handwritten forms that collect signatures from people in different counties. Job duties pretty much just require you to take the handwritten signature and match it to a person in a database using their name, address, and birth date as identification factors.

You must learn a few guidelines of special tags and requirements for different situations like if a middle name or house number is missing you’d insert the name into the database with a special tag like ‘-s’. There is quite a bit to learn at first but there is a lot of training given when you get hired via Zoom introduction video sessions as well as a lot of written resources available. There’s also a pretty active chatroom you can go to to seek help from other workers.

If it sounds easy enough, that’s because it is. There are really no requirements or prior knowledge needed before working for SigTrack. You essentially just copy signatures. The only difficulties were when it came to deciphering sloppy handwriting and scribbles for signatures.

That was the biggest deterrent for me. If the handwriting was easily legible, I could probably whip through a form with 10 signatures in a minute. In my experience, the majority of signatures and even printed names were hard too hard to read. Everyone once in a while you’d get a perfect form where everything is crystal clear and it’s perfect. But I’d say that is only really 20% of the time. The rest of the 80% of files were terribly hard to read.

When you have to guess and check every name, it really slows you down and lowers your accuracy. That was the most discouraging factor all though I did feel with a bit of time and experience I did see improvement in my ability to read bad signatures.

There always seems to be a lot of work at all times all though it seems busy season is during election seasons. Freelancers work 100% on their own schedule so you can work at any time of day and as much or as little as you want. I think I took a whole month off and was able to still work the next month with out any problems.

Requirements To Work For SigTrack

You must be able to work in the US and provide proof of residency. Unfortunately California and Massachusetts residents are unable to work for the company.

A computer and decent internet is really all the hardware you need.
Windows 10 or Mac OS 10.7 or higher is needed for your PC. Dual monitors would be helpful but is not necessary.
It seems across the board though that even with a more than efficient computer, the SigTrack user interface and/or servers are slow and laggy. It can be frustrating when it takes a long time to just open a file and can lower your pay rate per hour.

Other than that, just basic proficiency of the native English language is all that is required as well as all applicants must be 18+.

How Do You Get Paid on SigTrack?

Different campaigns have different prices but the averages you earn are between 2-5 cents per every signature copied correctly. Each scanned form differs as well but you can expect around 8-10 signatures per page, with exceptions of course with some pages having a lot less or much more.

SigTrack requires users to have an accuracy of 98% in order to not get suspended, all though leniency is shown to new users. Your pay is also determined by its accuracy where your pay will be deducted for inaccurate tags. You can read more about their accuracy and payment policy here.

You will be paid every Friday by PayPal. It seems this is the only payment method they’ll accept at this time. No minimums are required for payments. Even when not working much for a week, I think they sent me a payment for a few cents to a dollar. Receiving weekly payments seems to work like clockwork and no problems were experienced.

Factoring in the difficulty of the work, user interface, and tagging requirements, I’d say it’s fair to say if you work hard you can expect $9-$15 an hour. Of course, there are some people who can just look at even the hardest file and zip through it with out any difficulty, increasing their hourly average. I can honestly say that was not me. I struggled a lot and could still manage a healthy average on the lower end of $8-$9/hour.

How to Apply For a Work From Home Job at SigTrack?

If you want to apply for a work from home position at SigTrack just go to their website.

It has all of the information that you need to get started but the application process is to just:

Take a 3-5 second video of your drivers license or state ID next to your face. The video file needs to be 5MB or less in size. Email the brief video to [email protected].

Yup. That’s it. You don’t fill out any application. Just email their support with a video of your ID next to your face. It sounds very sketchy but it is the legit way they accept freelancers. I emailed them back in late December of 2020 and did not hear from them until early January of 2022. I really forgot about them and that I applied until I randomly received an email telling me I’ve been accepted and how to get started. It seems they have a pattern of hiring in waves. When it’s off-season they may not be accepting new applications but once it’s busy season, they’ll accept past applications in batches.

If you’re on the fence about applying, I’d just apply now considered you may wait over a year to hear back from them like myself. There really is no big commitment or contracts to sign. If you get accepted, try it out and it may work for you. If it doesn’t, you can just quit with out any difficulties.

Pros:

100% Work from home at your own schedule.

Quick pay.

Always work available.

A lot of training and guidance resources available as well as a chatroom with other freelancers to get help.

No experience necessary, anyone can learn.

Cons:

The work can be difficult. Signatures are hard to read. There are lots of tags that need to be remembered and accuracy must be maintained.

Laggy interface.

Long time to get hired.

They don’t accept contractors who are from California or Massachusetts and there doesn’t seem to be any plans to change that soon.

Will most likely be less than minimum wage unless you’re a signature copying champ.

Dscout- Remote Work To Earn Extra Cash

Conclusion

SigTrack is indeed a legit work from home, remote job. You will get paid and there is a lot of work available especially during peak season (election time). It may not be the most exciting position, as most data entry jobs aren’t, or have high pay, but it is a great opportunity to earn some extra cash on your own schedule from the comfort of your own home.
